W: Tasmania Legal Aid offers a range of high quality legal services across Tasmania through four offices, with a focus on economically and socially disadvantaged Tasmanians. We provide preventive services such as information about the law through our website and through community legal training. We offer early intervention services through our telephone counselling line, personal counselling, mandatory advocacy, support for minors and mediation services. We also provide legal representation in court by providing assistance to private lawyers and in-house lawyers. You can attend one of our free legal information evenings, call us to discuss your legal issue or make an appointment with one of our lawyers. We can help you with almost any legal issue, including Centrelink`s debt or appeal issues, consumer disputes with your telecommunications provider or insurance company, employment and fair work issues or domestic violence, child benefits or criminal matters. Community Legal Education and Information – Our lawyers offer free seminars on a variety of legal topics for schools, community groups or organisations across Tasmania.
